Proposal

Armageddon pain is a film about a character called Armageddon Pain, who was previously a criminal who is now taking vengeance on the drug dealers who sell the drug that led to his brothers death. Throughout the film there would be flashbacks of his younger days when he was selling drugs, weapons and killing anyone who got in his way. Throughout the film Pain stops a number of criminals from working in his town in his quest to destroy the drug that had killed his brother.
The film will take influence from the 2009 Scott Sanders film Black Dynamite and from films of such directors as Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.
The film should have a dark and seedy feel throughout while showing Pain's emotional struggle to make up for his dark past and his brothers death.

To make the short extract of this film we are going to require:
  • a camera
  • sound recording equiptment
  • suitable locations
  • costumes such as suits, balaclavas, trench coat
  • guns
  • fake drugs
  • fake blood
We are aiming for this film to appeal to an audience that like the films of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, fans of gangster and action films and even fans of comic book based films who show superheroes such as Pain, who is a more realistic take on a hero/vigilante, in an overly dark and crime based world.

Treatment

The film starts with two men walking down a street. They are wearing suits and balaclavas and they have guns. As they walk to the house, two old women are walking towards them. They let the women pass and carry on to the house.
When they arrive at the house, they shoot of the lock and enter the house. They are stood at the bottom of the stairs talking and then they go upstairs. They kick down a door and enter a room. In the room there is a man sat on a mattress with a big bag of drugs on his lap. The two men hold their guns up to him and then there is a reaction shot before they shoot him. They take the drugs, search the room for anything else and leave. As they are leaving the house, several shots of the films hero, Armageddon Pain, are shown. In these shots he is seen walking to the house from the other end of the street.
When the men reach the bottom of the stairs and are about to leave via the front door, the door swings open and Armageddon Pain is seen in the doorway. One of the men I shot in the stomach and the other in the leg. Pain approaches the man who was shot in the leg, reaches over and removes his balaclava. The man on the floor asks “who are you?” A gunshot is heard and the screen goes black. The name Armageddon Pain is heard and seen written on the black screen.
The film is now in black and white to show that this is a flashback. There is a voice over throughout this sequence. A young Armageddon Pain is seen weighing up drugs in his bedroom. There is a pan shot of all of the drugs he sells. He then leaves the house to go to “the corner”, the spot where he sells drugs. There are various people that come to buy drugs of him. He then goes to his dealer who has a new drug, which is highly addictive and a lot of profit can be made from selling it. He gets some and goes back to “the corner”. This time there are a lot more customers. This is the end of the flashback.
